| Not Long Ago | Believe it or not, I did my undergrad in Printing and Media Engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology, India. While learning about the technical side of the Graphic Arts industry, I was drawn towards design. I started reading books and teaching myself the basics of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, but I knew something was missing. I knew there was more to design than learning a few software packages. So, I decided to apply to a design school. After working hard on my portfolio and convincing my parents of the change in my career path I finally got a call from rit. |
| Presently | I am pursuing my mfa in Computer Graphics Design at Rochester Institute of Technology, ny. As each day passes by, I realize what a great decision it was to come here and study design. It is helping me become aware of all the complexities and intricacies that are involved in my chosen field. When the calling came, I accepted it, and never have I been so sure of anything in my whole life. I feel that I'm learning new things and improving everyday and I never want this to stop. |
| Interests | Design, loud music, typography, driving on a rainy day, good food, travelling, watching movies. Currently, I have a growing intrest in animation, 3D computer graphics, multitouch technologies and information design. Watch this space as this list keeps growing! |
| Current Projects | Right now I am laying the groundwork for my Thesis Project which is called – Letters are Beautiful. It is going to be a Flash multitouch application which teaches typography. I am also experimenting with real-time motion graphics in Processing. |
| Other Info | I walk very fast, my birthday is on the 22nd of September, I love Jimi Hendrix, The Doors and House Music, and my all time favorite movies are Munich, Pulp Fiction, Swingers, Last King of Scotland, Wall-E, The Bourne Trilogy and No Country for Old Men. |
About the Website
Designing your own portfolio is probably the hardest thing to get right. The design
of this website has gone through several iterations. I've tried Wordpress, Drupal, BlogEngine.NET, even a Flash version,
but I finally settled with a simple HTML
and CSS version. Mostly, because in this way the site will also work on devices that do not support Flash. Besides, I really like coding websites in text editors.
